Ray Wright – Founder, Pit Stops for Hope

Ray Wright founded Pit Stops for Hope in 2013 with a simple but powerful belief: real change happens when people take action. As a longtime member of the NASCAR community, he saw an opportunity to use that network to make a lasting impact on children in North Carolina’s most underserved communities.

He understands that a child’s future isn’t just shaped by what they learn in school, but also by the opportunities they have to grow through athletics and the way they fuel their bodies each day. Inspired by the dedication of teachers, he set out to support those who work tirelessly to guide and equip the next generation. He also knows that athletics do more than build physical strength—they teach resilience, confidence, and discipline, helping kids develop the mindset to push beyond their circumstances.

Fueled by faith and a relentless commitment to service, Ray continues to lead Pit Stops for Hope with the belief that when we invest in children today, we build stronger communities and a better tomorrow.

Sarah Masterson –President, Pit Stops for Hope

Sarah Masterson has always believed in the power of community, but in recent years, that belief has transformed into action. Seeing the needs around her, she felt called to step up in a bigger way—learning, leading, and investing in the people and places that shape the future.

That same passion for service led Pit Stops for Hope to seek her out, recognizing her heart for making an impact. With a deep appreciation for the role that education and athletics play in shaping lives, Sarah embraced the opportunity to lead as President. Having spent years immersed in the world of NASCAR through her husband’s career, she understands the dedication, discipline, and teamwork required to succeed at the highest level. That connection made her role at Pit Stops for Hope an even greater fit, allowing her to blend her love for service with a cause that feels deeply personal. Sarah is committed to ensuring that schools, educators, and students alike have the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive—because when we lift up those who shape the future, we create lasting change.
